Piotr Schmidt
A top Polish jazz trumpeter, composer, producer, and publisher. Graduate and PhD of the Academy of Music in Katowice; assistant professor at PANS in Nysa (Jazz Department). Winner of numerous awards, incl. Grand Prix at the Getxo Jazz Festival and Best Soloist of the festival. He has worked with icons of Polish and world jazz – Aaron Parks, Mino Cinelu, Walter Smith III, Leszek Możdżer, Krzysztof Herdzin, Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski, and more. Band leader and project creator. He has 18 albums to his name, including Tribute to Tomasz Stańko and Komeda Unknown 1967. For years among the leaders of Jazz Forum’s Jazz Top – Trumpeter of the Year 2023. His album Hearsay was named “Best Jazz Album of 2023” four times.
